Autumn Style Guide

Whether you want to admit it or not, the clocks have gone back, it is getting darker earlier, and we are truly in the midst of autumn/ winter. As such, it is time to update your wardrobe with a few key items, to stay on trend and in the warmth this winter. Here is my selection of investment items for this season:

Cable knit sweater

A great cable knit is one that is chunky, and worn loosely. It looks great with denim and heavy boots.

Double breasted jacket

I am a huge fan of the double breasted suit. Jackets worn without suit trousers look great too. A 6 button one, like the below from Topman Design is a classic.

Overcoat

A great coat is a given as a staple for a winter wardrobe. I love statement coats this season. This one from Reiss comes in chocolate and a great window pane design.

The smart bomber jacket

No longer confined to the streets, this season a horde of designers showcased smart bomber jackets. Worn best with smart denim and dark colours.

Collarless shirts

Inspired by Peaky Blinders, grab yourself a plain white, collarless shirt which is the very definition of smart casual.

Statement Trousers

Make a style statement with your trousers this autumn, embracing pattern and check.

Relaxed trousers

Trousers in a heavy fabric, like tweed or wool are great for this season, especially when they come in a tailored but relaxed fit.

Chelsea boots

Functional but formal, the chelsea boot looks great whether it is dressed up or down.

The double monk straps

The shoe of the season is the double monk strap. Like the chelsea boot, they look great smart or casual.

The hat

If you are lucky enough to be the sort of man that can wear a hat and pull it off, I would highly recommend wearing one.
