It is well and truly wedding season. To celebrate the fact that all of our weekends are to be taken up with champagne toasts and inappropriate dancefloor encounters, look of the week, created by Megan-Ruth St Clair Morgan is quite simply, the best dressed groom you will ever come across. Megan is one of the most prolific and well known illustrators that I have had the pleasure to work with to date. At the young age of 16, she won a place on Access to HE (Fashion) at the London College of Fashion, where she continues her studies on a BA (Honours) Fashion Illustration. Her specialty is live fashion (take a look at her Instagram for more) and she has worked with an impressive list of collaborators including Paul Smith, Coggles and London Graduate Fashion Week. It is truly an honour that she has agreed to create a piece for The Rakish Gent.
How does one go about being the best dressed at a wedding? The first step is a great suit and I love this navy three piece from Crombie. Closely tailored with a slim fit and a full canvas weave, and an amazing waistcoat it is a suit that you can wear for years and it will never get boring. With such a great suit that does all the talking, keep the rest of the pieces minimal - a crisp white shirt from Smyth & Gibson at Matches Fashion with a cutaway collar looks great with this beautiful silk grenadine tie from Drake's at Mr Porter. Footwear should follow a similar line - slim, sleek and black - these from Oliver Sweeney are perfect.
A huge thanks to Megan-Ruth for her illustration. You can find out more about her on her website as well as following on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
