Look of the Week

Statement trousers are a big trend this season. Look of the Week, illustrated by Mr Thackshila Udage shows how to pull them off, with simple, clean separates. This is the third illustration that Thack has created for The Rakish Gent and he is always a joy to work with. We recently collaborated on my Good Grooming Guide for Entouraaj Magazine, for which he created some great mini pieces of art. 

The look that Thack has so vividly created features a beautiful pair of trousers from Valentino available at Mr Porter - I love the slim, contemporary cut which works really well with the classical print. Such statement trousers work best when you keep the other pieces plain and basic. The white collarless Oxford shirt (great from Summer) from Topman is teamed with what has to be the coat of the season, the cardigan coat from the SS14 David Hockney/ Alan Bennett collection of Burberry Prorsum, which you can get at Matches Fashion. Finish the look off with some dope black velvet slippers, from River Island at Asos.
