As the sun starts to shine through the grey rain clouds, this weeks Look of the Week starts to look forward to (hopefully) several months of glorious sunshine. The above image is the second illustration that the amazing Thackshila Udage has created for The Rakish Gent. I love how realistic his work is, and how brilliant he is at capturing complex prints in illustration. Thack currently works as a designer of childrenswear and menswear for a manufacturer, and has previously worked in accessories design in Sri Lanka. Illustration is just one of his many talents - he also works in photography and design.
The look that Thack has so expertly illustrated is styled by me, and shows how to wear print well. Print is heavily featured in a host of menswear collections at the moment and bold patterns can be difficult to pull off. The bomber jacket and trousers in this look are both from Japanese brand Kolor, and are both available at Mr Porter. Kolor create beautifully constructed pieces with an emphasis on design and offbeat style. The floral bomber jacket works really when, when paired with a simple white shirt like this Topman one with grosgrain collar, or with a simple, plain knit. I love the detail on the Kolor trousers which manages to be bold and slick at the same time. The suitable for Summer sandals are from Ancient Greek x Carven, available at Matches Fashion.
A big thank you to Thack for another great illustration. You can find out more about his work on his website and follow on Instagram and Twitter.
